Monstera Obliqua Peru Peruvian Form
Monstera Obliqua Peru Peruvian Form
The unique Monstera Obliqua Peru plant with its truly special appearance, featuring large holes in its leaves. As the plant matures, it will produce mostly hole-filled leaves with thin connections between them. There are at least two types of Monstera Obliqua Peru in circulation among plant collectors, and this is the one with the most dramatic-looking leaves. The other type may look similar but doesn't produce such large holes in its leaves.
Young plants thrive in high humidity, while more mature plants don't require it as much.
Please note that this plant is allergic to high light. If it receives too much light, it will turn light green and eventually burn.
growing one plant from a node is a fun challenge, but one that requires patience and ideal conditions. High humidity (80% to 100%) and warmth (25-30C) are necessary for success.
This plant is sensitive to high light and does not require much to grow. The roots on the node have grown while still attached to the mother plant and may rot after the node is cut. Don't worry, though; the auxiliary bud is the most crucial part, and it should remain green and show signs of swelling and growth.
The node may produce more nodes before leaves, and it's important to keep it in contact with substrate. Otherwise, it will grow a runner until it finds a suitable place to grow a plantlet.
Once the plantlet starts growing its first leaf, it becomes much easier to care for. It will grow bushy with elongated leaves and then mature into the incredible adult leaves, wanting to climb. If it can't climb, it will produce a runner and new plants from the base.
